This Woman's Work

I've been sitting in front of my laptop for about 15 minutes now, bouncing between anger, sadness and I have finally settled on resolve & determination. What sent me into this state of mind was an email I received today from a woman who is stuck in an abusive relationship and like myself, this is not the only time she has been hurt by someone she trusted.

Her letter is heartbreaking. For me, the saddest part of her story is that she has never told anyone about any of the things she has gone through. She is scared and feels she just has to accept that this her life.

She is wrong.

So to anyone reading this, who also feels like life is overwhelming... to all the single moms and most of all to the person who signed her email as "Anonymous" I say this:

You are stronger than you think.

If you can't find your voice to shout that you deserve more than what you are settling for, use your feet to walk away.

If you feel broken and think it's impossible to put your self back together, please know these kind of bones grow back stronger than before.

If your listening to your fears & doubts, and feel desserted and alone, start listening to your spirit and your heart. It is telling you to fight.

If you wonder if the pain is worth the fight...... Yes. It is. Lean on those people around you and let them help you stand. Just reach out your hand so they can grab it.

If you cant run, walk, talk, or even crawl, please know you have it within yourself to at least stand up.
