Grandmother — a wonderful mother with lots of practice.

| Daughter, Mother and Granddaughter a few hours after birth. |
I became a grandmother this week. A Grandma. I'm Simply Grandma...
But there is nothing simple about the process and months leading up to that moment.
Moments of surprise, nervousness, cravings and throwing up in public places. Months of doctor appointments, trips to the ER, ultrasounds, shopping for all things pink and passing on every mother's need for stretchy yoga pants.
Nine months of waiting and preparing and then one night at 2am the phone rings. It's happening.
I dont quite know the words to accurately express the experience of watching my daughter give birth and become a mother herself. Beautiful? Spiritual? Amazing? A miracle? Yes to all of the above. All that and more.
Until I am able to write it all down, I will just say this:
I became a grandmother this week . It was the fifth time I fell in love at first sight. That means I have officially added one name to the list of people who will always own a good chunk of my heart.
I don't know if all grandma's feel the same way, but I do know that if they don't, they most definitely should.
Just like my own sweet grandmother, I will love her and be there for her.
Always and Forever.
In good times and bad.
No matter what. Come what may.
It's as simple as that.
