I fell in love with the music the first time I heard it. Beautiful and enchanting with just enough punch to get the heart pumping...just like the story itself. I could listen to this sort of music all day long.
Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,
Say, could that lass be I?Merry of soul she sailed on a dayOver the sea to Skye.
Billow and breeze, islands and seas,
Mountains of rain and sun,All that was good, all that was fair,All that was me is gone.Repeat chorus
Give me again all that was there,
Give me the sun that shone,Give me the eyes, give me the soulGive me the lass that's gone.
This performance below was held before the world premiere of the pilot episode of the new "Outlander" TV series on the Starz network. This took place in San Diego at the Spreckels Theater on July 25, 2014. Music and performance led by Bear McCreary. Visit Bear McCreary's website to read more about OUTLANDER by clicking HERE.
I just downloaded the theme song as one of my ringtones and have it on my mp3 player. You can get the music, the Outlander books and of course, lots of Downton Abbey stuff by checking out the left side of this blog where my some of my favorites are listed to get you started. Enjoy!!
